01

Seven-Day Health Guarantee

Every African Grey purchased directly from Grey Crown Aviary is covered for seven calendar days, beginning on the date the bird is delivered to the customer or collected by the customer or an authorised recipient.

The guarantee applies to a qualifying serious health condition that a licensed veterinarian reasonably determines existed before delivery or was directly connected to the delivery process.

02

Veterinary Examination Within 48 Hours

To maintain eligibility, the bird must be examined by a licensed avian or exotic-animal veterinarian within 48 hours after delivery.

The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the examination unless Grey Crown Aviary agrees otherwise in writing. Failure to complete it within 48 hours may void the guarantee, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

03

If the Bird Arrives Unwell

Notify Grey Crown Aviary immediately and obtain prompt veterinary attention. Provide a written veterinary report stating the examination date, clinical findings and whether the condition likely existed before delivery or arose during delivery.

Grey Crown Aviary may also reasonably request photographs, video, delivery records and the veterinarian's contact information.

04

If the Bird Arrives Deceased

Notify Grey Crown Aviary immediately upon discovery. Preserve all relevant delivery records and packaging until instructions are provided.

Provide reasonable supporting evidence, which may include photographs, delivery records and a veterinary or necropsy report where reasonably requested and legally permitted. Do not dispose of the bird before documentation requirements are explained unless immediate disposal is legally or professionally required.

05

Refund or Replacement

After review of a complete and valid claim, Grey Crown Aviary may provide either:

  • A refund of the affected bird's purchase price; or
  • A replacement African Grey of the same or comparable price range, subject to availability and lawful delivery requirements.

Unless confirmed in writing or required by law, delivery charges, permits, veterinary fees, customs charges, taxes and other third-party expenses are not automatically included.

06

Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide a clean, secure and appropriately sized enclosure.
  • Provide suitable food, fresh water and a safe temperature.
  • Follow the supplied transition and care guidance.
  • Protect the bird from fumes, toxins, escape, unsafe animals and household hazards.
  • Seek prompt veterinary care when illness or injury is suspected.
  • Provide accurate and complete claim documentation.
07

What Is Not Covered

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, coverage does not apply to illness, injury or death caused or materially contributed to by improper care, unsafe housing, poor diet, accidents, toxins, trauma, contact with other animals, delayed veterinary treatment, unauthorised medication, failure to complete the 48-hour examination, or misleading or incomplete claim information.

08

Thirty-Day Limitation

Grey Crown Aviary does not accept liability for illness, injury or death occurring more than 30 days after delivery, regardless of cause, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

This does not create a 30-day guarantee. The formal health guarantee lasts seven days only.

09

Applicable Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Health Guarantee limits or excludes any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded under the applicable laws of the customer's country, state or place of residence. Where local consumer-protection laws provide additional rights, those rights remain unaffected.
